SPOT PLAYS
1:32 SAR 2ND
Deep-closing filly KAITLYNS CAT (#3, 12-1) makes her first start since June and goes seven furlongs, which were the parameters for her runner-up finish here last year that earned a career-best Beyer. The last-out maiden graduate isn’t meeting any world-beaters. -Dave Litfin
3:08 SAR 5th
DUE DILLIGENCE (#8, 8-5) is working well on turf and dirt for his debut. - Mike Welsch
4:47 SAR 8th
TROILUS (#7, 12-1) looks ready for a big effort second off the layoff for Asmussen, has trained well over the local strip. - Mike Welsch
5:20 SAR 9th
Turnback and outer post both could prove key for Serpe-trained Ky-bred FLY RIDE (#9, 6-1), who comes well spotted and could wind up well-placed behind some of the other speed in here, i.e., Radiohead, Beer Is Good, and maybe Santo Gato. Irad has really been in the zone, and all it’s going to take is reverting to those 6-panel efforts at Bel to make him a major threat again in this niche. – Marty McGee
LIVE LONGSHOTS
2:04 SAR 3rd
MYSTICAL LOVE (#1, 8-1) her two turf sprints last year were both very good; cuts back here off the four month layoff for low profile, but solid, conditioner. Feel she can make her presence felt in the lane at overlaid odds.- Chuck Kuehhas
