SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Aspen Grove, impressive winner of the Grade 1 Belmont Oaks, heads an 11-horse field of 3-year-old fillies entered in Friday’s Grade 3, $400,000 Saratoga Oaks Invitational at 1 3/16 miles.
Aspen Grove, trained by James Stack, shipped to Saratoga shortly after the Belmont Oaks and has had two works over the training track.
Several other European runners are in for the Saratoga Oaks. Joseph O’Brien shipped in Caroline Street, a Group 3 winner in Ireland, and American Sonja, who finished fourth, a nose behind Aspen Grove in a Group 3 stakes at Leopardstown in May.
Also entered in the Saratoga Oaks are Solo Album, Elusive Princess, Xigera, Allamericanbeauty, Honor D Lady, Papilio, Selanaia, and Strikingly Spun.
