SARATOGA KEYS

Key’s, B’s and C’s

Saratoga Pick 3 (Races 4-6)

Race 4

Key’s: Hessonite

B’s: NONE

C’s: Inimitable Romanee, Shakeira, Dreaming of Cara

HESSONITE (#3, 6-5) a clear horse to beat back in with fellow NY-breds, against whom she has won 8-of-9 on turf. Wouldn’t go too deep against her, but will take some distant backup’s, just in case.

Race 5

Key’s: Michonne, Irish Sweepstakes, Flying K C

B’s: Aspree

C’s: I’m Gonna Flip

IRISH SWEEPSTAKES (#7, 5-2) did enough running in her debut behind a blowout winner to suggest that some of these firsters will have to be able to run a bit, but thought that both MICHONNE (#3, 10-1) and (#2, 4-1) FLYING K C had some things to recommend and will use them equally with the likely favorite.

Race 6

Key’s: Irish Whisper, Neck of the Moon, Fantastic Eyes

B’s: My Uptown Gal, Heading to Toga

C’s: Subtle, Invading Humor

Excellent betting race offers options, and while I am most interested in Fantastic Eyes, certainly NECK OF THE MOON (#9, 3-1) is dangerous right off the bench, and IRISH WHISPER (#8, 5-1), who was an impressive debut winner, has plenty of pedigree being out of a dam who was a stakes winner on grass and made over $180k on that surface. – Mike Beer

Saratoga Pick 3 (Races 7-9)

RACE 7

A: Googleado Strike One

B’S: Tenango, New Line

C’S: Sayler’s Creek

GOODLEADO (#1, 6-1) has changed hands since finishing game second behind next out winner and Amsterdam bound No Distinction at Churchill, has turned in two big moves since shipping locally. STRIKE ONE (#6, 4-1) missed a neck to Mico Margarita who won the G3 Carry Back in his next start. Sayler’s Creek worth a look at a bomb off big local gate drill with blinkers.

RACE 8

A Strapping Groom

B Souper Speedy, Politicallycorrect

C Jaguar Paw, Willyconker

STRAPPING GROOM (#9, 4-1) won big off the claim for Jacobson and need only repeat the effort to become a stakes winner for the first time. Souper Speedy is perhaps a vulnerable favorite but hard to leave out of the equation.

RACE 9

A Brazen Persuasion

B Bahnah

C Elena Strikes, Yes Liz

BRAZEN PERSUASION (#4, 3-1) looked super winning his maiden stretching to six furlongs and could be worth a single in the sequence. Will have to beat the speedy BAHNAH (#5, 7-5) who is a must use on all other tickets after zipping to easy debut win. – Mike Welsch
