Saratoga Harness: Huntinthelastdolar, Duval Street best in NY Sire Stakes events

A pair of New York Sire Stakes splits for 3-year-old colt and gelding pacers were the featured races on Saturday's program at Saratoga Casino Hotel.
Huntinthelastdolar (Wally Hennessey) captured the first $82,500 division in 1:52 2/5 after leading his four foes through stations of 26 3/5, 56 3/5 and 1:24 4/5. I Was Tricked (Braxten Boyd) had a pocket trip and finished a length behind the winner and Goldin Greatness (Jason Bartlett) checked in third.
Trainer Gregg McNair also co-owns Huntinthelastdolar, a Huntsville gelding bred by Crawford Farms, with partners George Kerr and Brad Grant. Huntinthelastdolar has compiled a summary of 4-3-0 from 12 efforts, sent his earnings to $229,786 and returned $4.50 to win as the favorite.

The other $84,000 showdown saw Blue Hunt (Hennessey) posted splits of 28 1/5, 57 2/5 and 1:25 2/5, but Duval Street (Bartlett) tipped out of the pocket passing three-quarters, forged his way into the lead on the outside on the last turn, and then kicked away in the stretch to prevail by 2 1/4 lengths in 1:52 4/5. Blue Hunt held off Taste Of Honey (Brett Beckwith) to get second.
Ed Hart trains Duval Street, another Huntsville gelding, for owners Randy Bendis and Pollack Racing LLC. Bred by Sundance Stable LLC. and Jay Sears, Duval Street made his fourth appearance in the winner's circle, has now banked $131,447 and paid $5.10 to win as the betting public's choice.
