Saratoga Harness: A Few Choice Words, Camerican score in NYSS

A Few Choice Words and Camerican took home top honors from the pair of $84,000 New York Sire Stakes divisions for 3-year-old filly pacers that led Saturday night's program at Saratoga Casino Hotel.

Driven by Jim Marohn Jr., A Few Choice Words yielded at the 27 2/5 quarter to sit behind favorite Tarrific (Wally Hennessey), and continued to track that foe through a 57 2/5 half and a 1:26 three-quarters. In the lane Marohn Jr. swung A Few Choice Words to the outside, and she was able to rally by Tarrific nearing the finish, winning by a neck in 1:54 1/5. She's Epic (Corey Callahan) finished third.

By Courtly Choice and bred by Knot Xzachallie Stable, A Few Choice Words is trained by Blake MacIntosh for owner Clancy Farms. This was her ninth career win, she has now earned $172,422 and she paid $17.60 to win as a 7-1 offering.

In the other flight Camerican (Brett Beckwith) brushed from third to take over the top spot passing the 27 2/5 quarter and then maintained control through middle-half stations of 56 3/5 and 1:24 4/5 en route to a one length tally in 1:53 2/5. Peace Talks (Hennessey) was second from the two-hole and Leanne's Choice (Marcus Miller) collected third.
