Saratoga Harness: Billy Dobson makes 5,000th trip to the winner's circle

Billy Dobson went into the Saturday (July 8) evening card at Saratoga Casino Hotel just three wins shy of 5,000 lifetime, and after victories with Gary Levine trainees Mister Godro and Hestherightstuff, he was on course for the achievement in the tenth race with Black Edition N.

Trained by Rob Harmon, Black Edition N and Dobson left from the rail and secured the lead. The pair held nothing back as they maintained at least a one length lead over the rest of the field, setting the tempo through panels in 27, 56 3/5, and 1:25 1/5. Black Edition N crossed the wire in 1:54 with a comfortable 1 3/4 length cushion, giving Dobson the milestone. Century Endeavor (Wally Hennessey) finished second and Chip Walther (Jim Devaux) rounded out the top three.

Harmon Racing Stable LLC. and Cass Gallagher co-own the victorious 6-year-old Bettor's Delight son as he moved his career record to 14-13-6 in 50 starts with $93,006 earned.
