Saratoga Harness: Ahundreddollarbill collects another track record

Ahundreddollarbill added Saratoga Casino Hotel to the list of venues he's lowered the track record for a 3-year-old gelding trotter at this year by taking Tuesday afternoon's single $156,000 New York Sire Stakes event for the group in 1:54 flat.
Dewey Arnold (Jason Bartlett) hustled away from post four and had the lead at the 27 3/5 opening quarter, but Ahundreddollarbill (Andrew McCarthy), who had left from post seven, was two-wide and challenging Dewey Arnold at that station. Ahundreddollarbill then took command and went on to the half in 56 1/5 and the three-quarters in 1:25 1/5 without facing an outside challenge.
Late on the final bend Dewey Arnold vacated the pocket to try and chase down Ahundreddollarbill, but his bid was in vain, as Ahundreddollarbill held sway to win by a length and a half. Dewey Arnold was next across the finish line, followed by Balenciaga (Wally Hennessey).
The time of 1:54 knocked two-fifths of a second off Dayson's previous track record established on August 9, 2016. This was the fourth track record Ahundreddollarbill has set in just seven starts in 2021, having broken the mark at Vernon Downs on June 4 (1:52 2/5), Yonkers Raceway on June 25 (1:54 2/5), and Yonkers again on July 13 (1:54).
Tony Alagna trains Ahundreddollarbill, a gelded son of Chapter Seven bred by Jonas Schlabach, for owners Crawford Farms Racing and James Crawford IV. This was his eighth victory from 13 lifetime starts, and he has now banked $381,557. He was the 1-5 favorite and paid $2.70 to win.
