ARCADIA, Calif. - Friday’s program at Santa Anita has a carryover of $42,057 in the $2 pick six. No one hit the pick six on Sunday, the most recent day of racing, after longshots such as Maker and Sons ($54) won the fifth race, and Tulavia’s World ($26.60) won the seventh race. The carryover was confirmed after He’s a Gangster ($11.20) won the eighth race, the second-to-last race of the day. Friday’s eight-race program begins at 1 p.m. Pacific. The pick six covers the third through eighth races and consists of three one-mile races and three sprints. Three of the races are on turf. The sequence includes a maiden race for 2-year-old fillies at 4 1/2 furlongs, which drew eight runners in the fifth race. All of the runners are first-time starters. The pool of new money may surpass $250,000. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering? Check out DRF's Handicapping 101 and Wagering 101 pages.
