Santa Anita: She's a Tiger targets Churchill's Eight Belles

ARCADIA, Calif. – Champion 2-year-old filly She’s a Tiger will race outside California for the first time when she makes her 2014 debut in a seven-furlong sprint for 3-year-old fillies at Churchill Downs on Kentucky Oaks Day, May 2.
Trainer Jeff Bonde said Tuesday he will target the $150,000 Eight Belles on the Oaks undercard for She’s a Tiger, disqualified from victory in her most recent start Nov. 2 in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies at Santa Anita, where she has been training regularly the past month.
The 3-year-old She’s a Tiger posted her second five-furlong workout March 27 and is scheduled for another long breeze this week.
“She’s training very well. The plan is the Eight Belles at Churchill,” Bonde said.
She’s a Tiger won 3 of 6 starts and $725,650 as a 2-year-old, including the Grade 1 Del Mar Debutante and Landaluce Stakes at Hollywood Park. She crossed the wire first in the BC Juvenile Fillies, but was disqualified and placed second behind Ria Antonia for interference in the stretch. She’s a Tiger also finished second in the Grade 1 Chandelier Stakes at Santa Anita and Grade 2 Sorrento at Del Mar.
