Santa Anita: Shared Belief to breeze later this week

ARCADIA, Calif. – Shared Belief, the Eclipse Award winner as the champion 2-year-old colt of 2013, continues to recover from a grabbed quarter sustained earlier this month and will have a workout at Santa Anita on Wednesday or Thursday , trainer Jerry Hollendorfer said Sunday.
Hollendorfer considered giving Shared Belief a workout Sunday but postponed the exercise.
“I want to make 100 percent sure that we can breeze him and there won’t be an issue related to that foot,” Hollendorfer said. “We’ll try to do something on Wednesday or Thursday.”
Unbeaten in three starts, Shared Belief missed a scheduled workout Jan. 12 after grabbing a quarter earlier in January. Shared Belief did not miss training despite the foot ailment.
“He’s really fit, and we never quit training him,” Hollendorfer said. “I think we can catch up.”
Hollendorfer said Shared Belief remains a candidate for the $200,000 Robert B. Lewis Stakes over 1 1/16 miles Feb. 8.
Owned by a partnership of Hollendorfer, KMN Racing, Jason Litt, Jim Rome, Alex Solis II, and George Todaro, Shared Belief won the $750,000 CashCall Futurity at Hollywood Park on Dec. 14 in his most recent start.
