Santa Anita: Ria Antonia breezes ahead of Santa Anita Oaks

Tom Keyser Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies winner Ria Antonia will start in the Rachel Alexandra on Feb. 22 at Fair Grounds.
ARCADIA, Calif. – Ria Antonia, the winner of the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies via disqualification at Santa Anita last November, worked a half-mile in 47 seconds Saturday.
Ria Antonia was recently transferred to trainer Bob Baffert, with the intent of giving her a start in the $400,000 Santa Anita Oaks over 1 1/16 miles on April 5.
Previously trained by Jeremiah Englehart, Ria Antonia finished second in the BC Juvenile Fillies but was promoted to first when She’s a Tiger was disqualified and placed second for causing interference in deep stretch. Ria Antonia was fourth in the Grade 3 Rachel Alexandra Stakes at Fair Grounds on Feb. 22, her first start of 2014.
