Santa Anita plans to run makeup card April 21
ARCADIA, Calif. – Santa Anita plans to race on Friday, April 21, as a makeup day for rain-related cancellations earlier this year, track officials said over the weekend.
The track did not have April 21 on its original calendar for the winter-spring meeting.

The April 21 program will mark the resumption of racing after a brief hiatus of the winter-spring meeting, which began on Dec. 26 and runs through June 18. The season runs through April 9 before a break on the race week of April 14-16 to give the turf course and human and equine participants a brief rest.
Santa Anita has canceled seven days of racing this year because of higher-than-normal rainfall, and held two makeup days in January and earlier this month.
