Santa Anita notes: Indianapolis will made graded debut in San Vicente

Indianapolis, the unbeaten stakes winner trained by Bob Baffert, will make his graded stakes debut in the $200,000 San Vicente Stakes over seven furlongs on Feb. 16.
Indianapolis won the San Pedro Stakes over six furlongs on Jan. 20 in his stakes debut. He stalked pacesetter Rockin Home for a furlong before taking the lead on the turn and winning by 4 1/4 lengths.Other candidates for the Grade 2 San Vicente Stakes are Kobe’s Back, the winner of the Willard Proctor Memorial Stakes last summer at Hollywood Park; Papa Turf, who was second in the San Pedro; maiden race winner Cherubim; and Grazen’s Hope, unbeaten in two overnight races at Golden Gate Fields.
Kobe’s Back was a troubled 10th in the CashCall Futurity, clipping heels on the backstretch. Joel Rosario, a former leading rider in Southern California who is based in Florida this winter, will ride Kobe’s Back.
