Santa Anita: Miss Serendipity works for Buena Vista Stakes

ARCADIA, Calif. – Miss Serendipity, a Group 1 winner in Argentina who was a troubled fourth in her American debut in the Paseana Stakes on Jan. 12, worked a half-mile in 48.40 seconds on turf Thursday.
Trained by Ron McAnally, Miss Serendipity is scheduled to start in Monday’s $200,000 Buena Vista Stakes over a mile on turf.
In the Paseana, Miss Serendipity was beaten 2 1/4 lengths as the 2-1 favorite by Golden Production, who starts in Saturday’s $200,000 Santa Maria Stakes on the main track. Miss Serendipity raced in traffic on the turn in the field of six fillies and mares.
The Buena Vista field is led by Egg Drop, who won three consecutive graded stakes in the final months of 2013. The Buena Vista will be Egg Drop’s first start since a win in the Grade 1 Matriarch Stakes at Hollywood Park in December.
