Santa Anita: Miss Serendipity more likely for Sunday's Santa Ana

Miss Serendipity is entered in Saturday’s $350,000 Santa Margarita, but trainer Ron McAnally said Thursday that the 6-year-old mare is likely to run in the $200,000 Santa Ana Stakes on turf Sunday instead.
“More than likely, it will be the turf,” McAnally said. “She won her big race in Argentina on the grass. The owner will be here Friday, and we’ll make a decision.”
Owned by Anselmo Cavalieri, Miss Serendipity won the Group 1 Estrellas Distaff on turf in Argentina last June in her final start in that country. In two starts in California for McAnally, Miss Serendipity has finished fourth in both the Paseana Stakes and the Buena Vista Handicap.
The probable starters for the Santa Ana include three-time Grade 1 winner Emollient, Emotional Kitten, Floral Romance, Stormy Lucy, Topic, and Nickels Wild.
