Gulfstream Park and Santa Anita will introduce a $1 pick six incorporating the final three races at each venue starting at the Santa Anita autumn meeting on Sept. 26, according to documents filed with the California Horse Racing Board. Santa Anita officials will appear before the regulatory agency in Del Mar on Thursday, seeking approval of a 16-day autumn meeting from Sept. 26 to Oct. 26. The $1 sunset pick six will have a 15 percent takeout and will not have a consolation payout. The net pool will be distributed entirely to winning ticket holders, or carried over to the next racing day the bet is offered. Track officials said last weekend that the sunset pick six is likely to be held each day that both Gulfstream Park and Santa Anita are racing, pending approval. The tracks have the same parent company, 1/ST Racing. Santa Anita will race primarily on a Friday-through-Sunday basis this fall and will race on Monday, Oct. 13. The first two weekends of the meeting include 14 stakes, many of which are prep races for the Breeders’ Cup at Del Mar on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. :: Playing Santa Anita?
