SPOT PLAYSCall it a stunner if KILL SHOT (#8, 6-5) gets beat. Runner-up twice in highly rated special-weights vs. open, he drops to face California-breds for a reliable stable. He is a standout at low odds. Closer Looks >> |

SPOT PLAYSRICSPRETENTIOUSGAL (#11, 6-1) a lot to like about this one; claimed by Sadler out of two turn pace setting effort and is ideally drawn for this downhill event; should be prominent throughout. - Chuck Kuehhas Route-to-sprint pro BLUES AND SILVERS (#9, 7-2) should love the hill. She set fast fractions and tired running long at Del Mar, now shortens up and figures for a good trip in the second flight. VULNERABLE FAVORITEADDENDUM (#8, 7-2) comes off a game win at BSR, yes, but her prior few starts at this level have seen her find a couple foes just a bit too tough. While she handles dirt this isn’t a bullring and that win makes her just 1-for-9 this year. Yes, she ran well here in the spring, but that came for half this tag so she may be vulnerable at this level. Closer Looks >> |

SPOT PLAYSMUM’S TRUCKEE (#2, 7-2) got a nice vacation (5 months) and came back with 2 sharp main-track sprints at DMR in August, finishing 3rd in each, and both were very tough races. Those show she’s back and doing well and give her the ideal foundation for the return to this longer trip and she’s shown before she may be even more comfortable on this footing. She has the speed and versatility to give her rider options. Closer Looks >> |

SPOT PLAYSNorthern California trainer Steve Miyadi sent four runners last week to outrun their odds at SA; KATEY’S COOKIN (#9, 9-2) might be another. The favorite is RUSHOMATIC (#1, 4-1). Closer Looks >> |
