Spot PlayDANCER HUMOR (#4, 7-2) ran on smartly to be 3rd in his first turf try, which came in a spot just like this here Feb. 21. He then faced tougher April 5, had a miserable post (No. 10), was midpack to the far turn, then got shuffled back to last (12th) into the lane before he found clear sailing and ran on well to pass a number of rivals and split the field, finishing 6th. That was a deceptively good run, he’s back in vs. $25K N2L foes and Puype adds blinkers to keep his focus (23% blinkers on). Oh, and a snappy :59.80 5f work here April 20 says he’s doing well. -Michael Hammersly
Spot PlayLUCKARACK (#1, 4-1) has good form sprinting on the grass, particularly when going down the hill. He won a race at this 6 ½-furlong distance here in December and most recently was second in an above-average $40,000 claimer. – Byron King

Vulnerable FavoriteSHE’S FLUSH (#8, 5-2) has been knocking on the door and boasts a number of good showing (3 2nds, 4 3rds in 17 starts). Trouble is, she keeps finding 1 or 2 who are just a bit better and you have to wonder after so many starts if her best chances have come and gone. She did work very smartly here May 4 to indicate she’s doing well, but is that enough to get you to embrace a gal who figures a short price, after 17 losses, while also taking on some elders? -Michael Hammersly
