Race 2 Formulator PPs |
Spot PlayCACHE WANTED (#4, 4-1) ran better than the line shows in his debut. Not quick, not asked, green in the lane, he finished evenly and trained well since. He meets a fairly soft field of maiden-30s, and is qualified to spring an upset.-Brad Free Closer Looks >> |
Race 3 Formulator PPs |
Spot PlayLuckarack (#1, 4-1) has good form sprinting on the grass, particularly when going down the hill. He won a race at this 6 ½-furlong distance here in December and most recently was second in an above-average $40,000 claimer. – Byron King Closer Looks >> |

Vulnerable FavoriteCOUSIN RICKY (#6, 1-1) opens the heavy favorite as he goes for a 3rd straight win. Remember, though, he only beat today’s foe BUSHWACKED by a neck here March 28 so there isn’t much separating the two. Also, considering he’s on a roll, his slight devaluation (goes from $16,000 to $12,500 level) is a tad disconcerting. After all, they don’t give anything away out here. There are others in here who fit well at this level, too.-Michael Hammersly |

Spot PlayPRINCESSKATIEBELLA (#2, 6-1) finished a deceptively good fourth in her debut, after being blocked from the five-sixteenths to the three-sixteenths in a turf mile for state-bred maiden fillies. With race under her belt and a clean trip she should move up a ton.-Brad Free |
Race 7 Formulator PPs |
Spot PlayTIZ A KISS (#7, 5-2) should improve second start on the comeback trail, a one-mile turf route for California-bred allowance fillies. The lone knock is the turf course tends to favor tactical speed, and she has none.-Brad Free Closer Looks >> |
Race 8 Formulator PPs |
Spot PlayTASHA’S COURAGE (#11, 3-1) looks ready to turn the corner. Two nice 2nds here in January hinted she was ready to break through, but then came a not-so-hot run here Feb. 17. However, he bounced back nicely, finishing 2nd to a runaway winner at this level here March 27. That run looks even better when you note 2 who finished well behind him that day came right back to win, and a bullet :35.80 work here May 3 says he’s doing well.-Michael Hammersly Closer Looks >> |
