Vulnerable FavoriteKOAST (#8, 5-2) likely deserves favoritism what with his good history on the hill (3 of his 4 wins have come here). That being said, his last couple weren’t any great shakes and each of his last 3 starts has been followed with a layoff. Just a year ago he was good enough to be in the G3 San Simeon on the hill here but his last couple hint he may not be the same horse. -Michael Hammersly

Spot PlayPOSHSKY (#1, 4-1) showed vast improvement in his first start for trainer Peter Miller, who shows faith in this horse’s turf ability by returning him to the lawn after such a fine dirt race for him. –Byron King

Spot PlayQUICK NAVIGATOR (#1, 6-1) makes his first start since last Aug. 7 at DMR when he hinted at turf ability for trainer Puype. He’s worked smartly for this return (a couple recent bullets) and is bred all over to relish the sod being by a multiple Group 1 Euro-beast (Henrythenavigator) out of mare who posted her only win on turf and with his only sibling being a turf winner. -Michael Hammersly
