PRACTISING (#9, 3-1) made a very smart first impression when she came here from England, easily rallying past maidens Jan. 18. She was next inside and had a slightly cramped trip when 4th at about this level here March 13. That earned her a shot at the G3 Providencia April 5. Well, she found those waters too deep. She’s been freshened since and drops, both of which may help her get back on track. And the good news price-wise is that her last 2 failures and today’s far outside post can keep your price palatable. -Michael Hammersly

IT IS LIVING WATER (#5, 5-2) has been knocking on the door with a 4th, 3rd, 3rd and 2nd in his last 4 tries, all on turf like today. That being said, he wasn’t really a big threat in the final furlong in any of those (beaten 3 1/2, 2, 3 1/2 and 2 1/4 lengths) and the 2 times he got closest came sprinting – we’re routing today. -Michael Hammersly
