Vulnerable FavoriteEUROCLYDON (#8, 3-1) likely merits favoritism based on her 2nd sprinting at this level here March 27, her first try at this level after facing straight maidens. Yes, that was a nice run but Beyerwise she seems to have leveled off and while she did run 2nd it’s not as if she was a real threat to the winner (was beaten 3 lengths). There are a number of other promising runners in here, many of whom drop in class. She has no significant speed-figure edge and the presence of top rider Bejarano may depress your price further. -Michael Hammersly

Spot PlaySHEER TALENT (#4, 5-1) tries dirt for the first time but not only is the 5yo gelding bred for it (by GSW dirt winner Wildcat Heir) he’s been working splendidly over this track, including a bullet 1:11.80 move here April 20. His surface switch comes with a class drop and it’s most encouraging Bejarano takes the call in a race where it appears he had options. This runner once held promise as they thought enough of him as a 2yo to try him in numerous stakes. Things may not have quite panned out in that regard but he doesn’t have to be that kind of horse to win this. -Michael Hammersly
