Spot PlayPARTY TIME (#1, 5-1) was off a step slowly breaking from rail in solidly bet debut; “longer” Baffert will look to take them wire to wire here today. - Chuck Kuehhas

Spot PlayHARD TO RESIST (#5, 3-1) is just that. Oh, sure, her last few starts weren’t very pretty but she was in deeper water in each case. After a good stakes 2nd on DMR’s synthetic track they thought enough of her to try the Grade 1 Spinster on KEE’s synthetic. That didn’t go so well. Then came a good 4th to Halo Dolly (graded stakes proven) on GG sod Nov. 17 and a solid 4th to Moone’s My Name (graded stakes proven) on the BHP turf Dec. 5. She dropped for a Jan. 19 run here but after pressing the pace had no kick. Still, she was in tough and after a freshening drops further off a string of good works with the leading rider seeing fit to climb aboard. -Michael Hammersly

Vulnerable FavoriteOLD PUEBLO (#3, 2-1) is the one to beat here off 2 recent near-misses. Even so, he faces a few others in here who have been in his ballpark Beyerwise and faces others taking significant drops in class. -Michael Hammersly
