Vulnerable FavoriteJUST DANCING (#6, 8-5) warrants favoritism off a smashing maiden win routing here Jan. 17, a sign she may well have turned the corner. Remember, though, it’s first time vs. winners today and you’ve seen a million of these big maiden winners come vs. winners and blow up at short odds. And good as she looked in that win her Beyer didn’t come back overwhelming (67), meaning she doesn’t come into this with some big speed-figure edge, either. -Michael Hammersly

Spot PlayPOWER PED (#8, 4-1) may have turned the corner. After a couple disappointing fall outings he was freshened, returned here Feb. 1 and looked super whipping N1X foes. Yes, this is a much tougher spot (he’s facing some guys here who are graded stakes proven) but usually once Mr. Mandella gets ‘em on the right path they tend to stay there. And the fact he has those aforementioned not-so-hot outings staring folks in the face that can keep his price buoyed. -Michael Hammersly ARTIC NORTH (#3, 4-1) returns following brief freshening, which may have been needed after campaign which included cross-country trip; gets best distance today and class relief too. - Chuck Kuehhas
