Spot PlayPAY THE DEBT (#2, 6-1) is qualified to upset this sprint for 3yo claiming fillies. Her recent form is good, she could tuck into a good trip right behind the pace, and she has a history of outrunning her odds. -Brad Free

Spot PlayBERTRANE (#8, 6-1) stretches out, drops and meets a weak field of maiden-50s in this turf route. He wasn’t quick enough to sprint last time, but fits perfect here. -Brad Free
Vulnerable FavoriteBIG MEDICINE MAN (#2, 5-2) may go favored due to the big drop (straight maiden to maiden claiming) and the colt has a couple decent turf starts, both on this course at this trip. Even so, those 2 efforts weren’t overwhelming (3rd beaten 2 3/4 lengths; 5th beaten 1 1/2 lengths) and he just ran 4th beaten a city block (18 1/4 lengths) routing on dirt here Feb. 17 so it’s not as if he comes here breathing fire. -Michael Hammersly

Spot PlayPOWER PED (#6, 4-1) shortens to one mile in a turf route likely to unfold at a legitimate pace. 'PED finished well third last out, won his only previous start at a mile, and can mow them down. -Brad Free Closer Looks >> |
