Vulnerable FavoriteJETBIRD (#4, 5-2) is the ML favorite but she’s the only one in this field who has yet to be 1st under the wire (got her maiden win Feb. 23 via DQ). Yes, she’s shown speed and talent but even in her maiden ‘win’ her Beyer wasn’t any great shakes (63). In fact, there are others in here who have registered higher. -Michael Hammersly

Spot PlayMAMBO MAN (#7, 3-1) ran super first off the claim last out, rallying from the back to finish second in a marathon race otherwise dominated by speed. He cuts back to a mile and one-quarter and adds blinkers. -Brad Free
Spot PlayMAMBO MAN (#7, 3-1) appears to be sitting on a score. He ran 5th in a mile turf race here Jan. 30 for $40K and was snatched up by Canani via a claim. Julio brought him back at 1 1/2 miles vs. some tough optional claimers and the 5yo gelding finished strongly to be a sharp 2nd, beaten just a half-length. Julio moves him back to his claimed level and adds blinkers and the gelding has 3 works since that race including a brisk :47.60 move here March 12 to indicate he’s feeling pretty darn good these days. The 1 1/4 miles is no sweat; his last win came going 1 3/8 miles on turf. -Michael Hammersly

Spot PlayHe must defeat top pick CHARBROILED, but second-start maiden MURMANSK (#3, 8-1) should improve after breaking slowly in his debut. Trainer Eric Kruljac is effective with second-start maidens, having won with a pair this meet. -Brad Free
