Spot PlayRYDERROO (#6, 5-2) is a pick-six single. She “won” a similar Cal-bred maiden-40 last out but was disqualified for interference. She has a sharp five-furlong workout here last week; her last-out figure is faster than any other dirt figure in the field. -Brad Free
Vulnerable FavoriteRYDERROO (#6, 5-2) deserves favoritism as she’s the only ‘winner’ in this maiden race (finished 1st Feb. 23 only to be DQ’d). And while that makes her a major player here she still doesn’t possess some huge Beyer edge and while she benefitted from the drop from straight maiden to maiden claiming last time today she faces another who takes the same pivotal drop (Tickle Again) as well as a gal (Swiss Heart) who wasn’t far at all behind her in that Feb. 23 race. -Michael Hammersly

Spot PlayNot sure if he can catch speedster RANGI, but European import DON MARCO (#7, 8-1) is interesting at a price. Lightly raced, training well, progeny of Australian sire Choisir have done well on the Santa Anita hill. Upset chance from off the pace. -Brad Free

Spot PlayALICE ROADTRAIN (#8, 3-1) had a troubled start in her debut here Feb. 17 but to her credit she kept to her task well to be a respectable 5th, beaten just 2 1/4 lengths. Not only can she benefit from that experience and a better start, but today’s class drop may be pivotal as well. Trainer Miller continues his fine meet. -Michael Hammersly
