Vulnerable FavoriteJOINT ATTEMPT (#6, 8-5) appears the one to beat coming off a nice 2nd routing at this level here Jan. 31, particularly as the opposition is quite suspect. That being said, to back her means embracing a short price on a gal who, like the rest in here, has yet to beat winners, and whose only victory came on turf at Calder last June 21. And while she ran on well for 2nd in that aforementioned Jan. 31 race the Beyer (60) doesn’t overwhelm these. -Michael Hammersly

Spot PlayCOOK INLET is the horse to beat; HALF STRIKE (#1, 8-1) might be the horse to bet. Recently gelded since raced, he adds blinkers and returns to dirt for top trainer Bill Spawr. Upset chance. -Brad Free
Spot PlayTWIN SIX (#4, 6-1) may be peaking. He was a good 2nd for $10,500 here Jan. 20 (sprinting) but moved to a better trip (a mile) here Feb. 7 for $12,500, pressed the pace and blasted home to win going away in a smashing effort. Off that it’s great to see his connections now DOUBLE him in value – not only does that speak of confidence but it tells other horsemen that if they want to claim this guy the price of poker just went up…a lot. Of course, such a class hike means facing tougher but it should also keep his price more than palatable. It’s no small matter, too, that this type of trip is his best game. - Michael Hammersly

Spot PlayDEHERE IS GONE (#9, 9-5) looks obvious in this maiden-20. He moved too soon last out, lost ground and lost his punch. He shortens from seven furlongs to five and a half, and looks like a single to end the card. -Brad Free
