Spot PlayLE FASCINATOR (#1, 7-2) may be a timely claim by Belvoir. The filly came in from back East and was a very smart 3rd in her first local start, which came on the hill for $32K. She then found $50K foes too tough when routing here April 13. She dropped to this level, returned to the hill but got away slowly and then had some traffic issues in the lane before finishing 4th. Belvoir saw fit to claim her (20% off a claim) and with a better start and cleaner trip she can topple this bunch which seems to take turns anyway. Oh, a snappy :59.40 move here May 29 says she’s doing well. -Michael Hammersly

Spot PlayNUMBER FIVE (#7, 4-1) makes his first start for a tag but should be a square price due to limited route experience; believe he can get the mile distance against this easier company; ran quickly two starts ago when third with an 82 Beyer when going down the hill.– Byron King
Vulnerable FavoriteHOBBITS HERO (#3, 6-5) certainly is the one to beat off 2 very nice wins here recently. That being said, everyone can see it so you’re looking at a short price on a horse whose Beyer actually went down in his last win (from 81 to 77) and who is dropped in price (from $50K to $40K). Considering he’s going so well, why the devaluation? Hey, they don’t give anything away out here. -Michael Hammersly
