Spot PlayCEE’S TIZZY BELLE (#5, 9-2) may be ready to turn the corner. Her debut at DMR last summer wasn’t bad at all as she ran on well for 5th, beaten just 1 3/4 lengths (moved up to 4th via a DQ). She wasn’t seen again until April 11 on the hill here when she was away slowly but again finished smartly to be 4th, beaten just 2 lengths. She’s been freshened since, gets more ground with which to work and has been working smartly. She’s bred to this, too, as she’s kin to top-class turfer Tiz Flirtatious (Grade 1 winner and placed). -Michael Hammersly

Vulnerable FavoriteMALIBU COLONY (#2, 7-2) opens as a tepid ML favorite, probably based on the fact he takes the most significant drop in the game (straight maiden to maiden claiming). Trouble is, he gave way badly in his lone start vs. those tougher foes (last of 10, beaten 32 1/2 lengths) and that also came at DMR – he hasn’t been seen since. It’s also first time dirt so there are a few issues here, not the least of which is the fact he may well go favored. -Michael Hammersly

Spot PlayQUAY FACTOR (#5, 3-1) won first out on dirt with a nice figure and then came back with a close third in a starter allowance on the turf; might be a tick or two higher on the board than he should with the public going after morning-line favorite Fly to Freedom -Byron King
