Vulnerable FavoritePURE SOVEREIGNTY (#5, 5-2) gets leading rider Talamo as he invades from OP. He’s been working smartly at LA no doubt, but his OP form was iffy at best and while he drops in price he goes from restricted to open foes, so that negates the price drop. It’s also his first time here, first action in nearly four months and he faces a few grizzled veterans. -Michael Hammersly

Spot PlayMACAABRA (#4, 4-1) gets class relief by exiting stakes and moving into an allowance and returns to what she does best – sprinting down the hill at Santa Anita. -Byron King

Spot PlayGOYAN (#3, 3-1) looked good whipping maidens routing here May 11. However, in his first try vs. winners he moved back to a sprint (7fs), was facing $25K N2L foes and he was no factor, finishing 5th. Well, the son of Lewis Michael moves back to a route, which can certainly help, and has his value cut in half, which can be a boon, too. And it bodes well that he showed sharpness with a bullet :59 here June 12 (best of 26 at 5fs that day). -Michael Hammersly
