TRIBAL JEWEL (#5, 5-2) takes a significant drop (7th in the G3 San Francisco Mile). He has run very well here (3 of his 4 wins) but since the 14-month hiatus hasn’t looked quite as strong and now comes another nearly 2 months on the bench and some tough foes to deal with in his return. -Michael Hammersly

OEIGHTER (#5, 9-2) was away slowly in her debut, which came on this hillside course, and while unable to be a factor she finished with good energy to be 5th, beaten just 4 1/4 lengths. She can certainly improve with that run under her belt, some experience now on the hill and a better start. It’s most encouraging Talamo takes the call. Being by Tale of the Cat it’s no surprise she handles turf and that last finish should help keep your price buoyed. -Michael Hammersly
