Spot PlayThe sixth-place debut by PRESSURE TIME (#6, 5-2) was better than it appears. He was shuffled early, blocked behind into the lane, and then finished with a burst. He may have more speed than shown and should improve a ton second out. -Brad Free PRESSURE TIME (#6, 5-2) didn’t have a brutal trip at BHP Dec. 12 but he had just enough trouble to make things difficult, and on top of that it was his debut and came on turf. A slow start didn’t help matters either. He stalked the pace but was crowded into the lane. A good analogy would be how you felt walking through the mall the week before Christmas. Now the son of crack sprinter Freespool has that race under his belt, moves to dirt with 3 works since and there’s NO panicky drop by a sharp trainer. It also doesn’t hurt there’s not much power lined up against him here. -Michael Hammersly

Spot PlayA low-odds standout, JET WARRIOR (#6, 6-5) returns as a dominant favorite in this maiden-40 starter on the hill. His winning debut was super, his comeback works are sharp and his rivals are ordinary. -Brad Free

Vulnerable FavoriteKAHALA (#2, 3-1) drops in price after a modest debut across town almost 2 months ago and that, along with facing numerous firsters and some others who didn’t do much running in their races, may stamp her the favorite. Still, that may mean taking a shorter-than-should-be price on a horse who was never really a factor in her debut, who’s trying dirt for the first time and who from a Beyer standpoint (33) didn’t show that much oomph. -Michael Hammersly
