Only a brief factor for Baffert to kick it off; 1 for 9 dam took a route; this is her first to race; could see her pushing the issue, not sure she'll be around at the end.

Grey Girl Gone

Miss could just have been overmatched in the debut; stakes placed 8 for 25 dam earned 2 grand an appearance; 2 of 6 siblings won; top kin Real Temptation took 8 of 34, earned over $260K; would expect her to improve.

Ryderroo

Four Beyer regressions since having number taken down; top last race and career Beyer in the resume; maybe she finally found the right group.

Afleet Echo

Still in for $30K more than purchase price; 3 for 18 dam earned $80K; 3 of 4 siblings won including 4 for 19 racer and over $160K earner Eastern Atlantic; look for her to be more involved early with the blinks.

Bellanza

Hung wide from the marooned slot; dam out of the money twice; 5 of 6 sibs won, one banked about $85K; could need easier spot to show top talent.

Swiss Perfection

Must be given legit look on the drop alone; 2 for 14 dam earned over $50K; 6 of 9 sibs won including full sister, triple stakes winner, 4 for 9 performer and near $350K earner Tilde; drawn right, don't ignore. - Brian Mulligan

Warren's Veneda

Career-best Beyer speed figure was accomplished on SA dirt at 1 Mile which makes today's 6F test a race where she figures to want more yardage noting her 2-back loss; has always wanted more distance than 6F during career; saves ground then makes one run.

Clearly Confused

Great sign that her 1st race off the claim is a career-best Beyer speed figure; she is another who likes to sit back early then make one-late run; defeated the 2-back runner-up and show finishers; they Beyered 90-76 in next-out SA-32K claming and optional-claiming wins.

Sagebrush Queen

Win rider from last sides with Warren's Veneda; massive class test in her 1st stakes attempt; exits a career-best Beyer at today's 6F distance; the 2-back runner-up finisher Beyered 87 in a next-out SA-OPC win; hopes someone goes after the speedy My Sweet Addiction from the gate to help her late punch.

My Sweet Addiction

Dangerous when any runner projects loose on an easy lead especially one coming in here with a 2-race win streak for a high-percentage fresh trainer; defeated the runner-up finisher from last who Beyered 85-77 in next-out CD-OPC and alw. wins; the 3-back winner repeated in a SUN-200K stakes with a 94 speed figure.

Doinghardtimeagain

Has not raced this short of a distance since her August, 2012, career debut; not worried about the long layoff for a 32%-win trainer with this angle; she was far off her best game to end her 3-year-old season; the runner-up and 4th-place finishers from last Beyered 95-87 in next-out KEE-Grade 1 and SA-G3 stakes wins; hopes to avenge the 2-back loss vs. Warren's Veneda getting a positive 3-pound weight swing for this off that neck defeat; the 2-back runner-up finisher Beyered 92-83 in 2 next-out wins including a 100K stakes. - Art Gropper

I Don't Care Who

Gelding was given a little extra time after his second straight beaten chalk effort going long over the local main track; his prior route tries were pretty good and he does love the local course; he draws inside again and now he'll drop back in for a tag; with speed drawn towards the outside maybe he's able to secure a good spot down inside behind them here and that could help him get back on track; consider.

American Blend

Takes a big drop in company off what he's been facing of late and the last time he was out of the stakes ranks he was able to find the winner's circle; gelding is a 3 time local winner but he prefers to make a run from well out of it and he doesn't figure to get the kind of pace in front of him that would flatter that style here; could be left with some work to do in the lane, but the class drop warrants him some respect.

Dry Summer

Returns at the level of this barn's last out claim after running out of ground on the local lawn; gelding earned some solid numbers going long in New Mexico prior to that and he's proven capable of sitting a spot within striking range of the pacesetters early; contender.

Valley Cat

Seven year old broke through with a narrow victory when moved back to dirt 2 starts back and was taken by this sharp outfit in the process; gelding subsequently earned a career best Beyer in defeat and he's yet to finish out of the money in 6 career local spins; if he's able to run back to his last one after 5 weeks on the shelf he could prove to be the one to down.

Tribal Jewel

Gelding gave a G3 turf stake up North a try after a couple of sharp main track sprints to begin the season there; maybe the return to dirt and routing helps as he was quite good here in his sophomore finale but he'll need to prove he can still perform at that level before he could be considered a major threat here.

Got Even

Outside drawn gelding drops in for a tag after being mired in the N1X allowance condition for a long time; he's got speed and does figure to be able to clear these with a clean break and hard send; while the trip may be a bit longer than he really wants to go, a clear lead could prove the panacea; one to run down. - Steve Grabowski

Badasmywifeletsmeb

Best recent workout was on 5/28; his sire won 6 of 16 attempts and 142K; progeny of Unusual Heat have won nearly 10 percent of their debuts; the dam went 3 for 48 earning 191K; winning siblings include 82K earner Inquisitive Son.

Shop Forever

Upgraded in that second venture despite stumbling at the break; his sire won 3 of 16 and 294K; the dam scored in 3 of 15 appearances earning 32K; among the winning sibs is 35K earner Born to Shop; should improve with alert getaway.

Salt of the Earth

Has shown much more ability in both starts this year; was game to capture the place last month, his first try at this distance; has legitimate money chances again but will likely offer less appealing odds today; mixed signals.

Takeit Tothe Limit

Finished a remote fourth in his maiden voyage but was meeting much better stock that day; his sire won a G1 and 424K while the dam won 3 of 16 and 102K; among the winning siblings is 232K earner Put It Back; should fare better vs. this lot.

Caddy Cain

Offspring of Whatsthescript, who won multiple G2s and just over a million dollars, have been successful in 3 of 13 initial tries; the dam won 2 of 13 and 135K; sib to 23K earner Uh Oh She's Flat; should be a generous price.

Newport Red

Adds blinkers after coming up empty in his 2014 debut; his sire won 4 of 9 races and 99K: the dam won 2 of 15 appearances and 41K: winning siblings include 48K earner Comical Vacation; latest workout at five-eighths suggests he can up his game today.

Smoke Tree

Never got involved first time out but he turned in a very sharp half-mile move a week ago; the grey's sire won a G3 stakes and 623K while the dam won 1 of 14 and 14K; winning siblings include 30K earner Summers Dignity.

Celestial Image

Might have been compromised by the ordinary pace in his first run (today's event figures to include quicker fractions); the gelding's sire won multiple G1s and 1.84 million; the dam never raced; winning siblings include 165K earner IO Can Yodele. - Jim Kachulis

Race 7

Malibu Honey

This filly flashed a good deal of natural ability in her first few starts and like to see her making her first start for a barn that has had success with horses returning from this type of a layoff, and her recent workouts look encouraging.

Corlett Drive

She's been a pretty consistent performer and like to see what she did in her one start over turf prior to this; Talamo has been on top of his game in recent weeks, and he's looked good the two times he's teamed up with this miss.

Smart N Dreamy

Her overall turf form helps give her a competitive look in this spot, but there is a chance that her connections are using this race as a steppingstone to a longer event the next time around; third-place finisher from latest won next out here on 5/1 going 1m over turf vs. 25-22.5k claimers with a 78 Beyer.

Rosies Ready

Her form routing over turf has been better than her form sprinting over turf, and when considering that this will be her first start since early November, perhaps she's using this race for conditioning purposes; third-place finisher from latest won next out here on 1/1 going 1m over turf vs. 40-35k claimers with an 85 Beyer.

Dinvar Diva (GB)

She ran pretty well in her first start sprinting over turf in her latest outing and she can benefit from having that experience behind her; third-place finisher from latest won next out at SA on 5/30 going 1 1/8m over turf vs. 40k OPC's with an 83 Beyer.

Blake's Magic

This filly has a nice pedigree for turf, and even though she got the job done going a mile in her latest start, she figures to appreciate turning back to a sprint distance for this; going to look for her to be making noise through the lane with Gryder aboard.

Provenance

She finished behind today's rival Dinvar Diva when last seen and the third-place finisher from that race won next out at SA on 5/30 going 1 1/8m over turf vs. 40k OPC's with an 83 Beyer; she'll be tough to deny if she performs the way that she did just two starts back.

Noise of the Crowd

Her form sprinting over turf has been solid, and even though this might prove to be a tough step up in class for her after being claimed for 20k from her latest start, her connections appear to be confident in her by requesting the services of Smith for this.

Zanbo

Her overall turf form helps give her a competitive look in this spot and she's been at her best in her two most recent races sprinting down the hill; she's run well when fresh a few times in the past and going to look for her to be ready to give a good account of herself against these. - Brian Pochman

Race 8

War Academy

Just missed getting there at a shorter trip when returning from 11 months on the shelf and facing older foes for the first time; Baffert gelding was given some more time off that try, but this 450K yearling buy has been drilling of late like he's ready to roll and the extra panel should only help; expect they'll have him to beat.

Tiz Dynamic

Held third money when sent long off the freshening and now he'll turn back to sprint; he has a right to be better this time, but one turn racing isn't his best game; maybe he's close to the pacesetters early at this reduced trip and his barn is having a pretty nice meeting; don't think he'll have enough left late to threaten for the top spot but he can get in the exotics mix here.

Kate's Event

Steps up to the optional claiming ranks for his first start off this sharp barn's claim; love the way he ran away from the overmatched bunch at this trip and his 2 most recent numbers certainly put him right in the thick of this one; 5 time local winner looks to be the main danger.

Holy Lute

Gelding got the tightener in him last month and now he'll stretch out a panel for his second crack at the level; barn hasn't had much luck with its runners second back from the break, but he offered improved early interest last time and he looks to be much better suited to today's added furlong; one to consider.

Caminetto

Seeks his third straight score while making his first start back from 20 months on the shelf; 5 year old has been working pretty well of late for this and he'll get a solid journeyman pilot for the rise to this level; barn knows how to get them cranked for the comebacker so he can't be overlooked.

Airfoil

Turns back to the trip of his late running score 2 starts back over cheaper; gelding ran pretty well in his first crack at the level but don't know that he's going to get the kind of pace he'd like to run into here; boasts a sharp recent morning move so maybe that helps him sit closer to the top early, but we're limiting his use to underneath in exotics today.

Tanzanite Cat

Sophomore will try older for the initial time while returning from time off here; he wasn't much of a threat in the graded stakes ranks this spring, but he was in against some pretty decent 3 year olds and he's probably a better one turn runner anyway; broke his maiden fresh and his recent Los Al drills suggest he's on his toes for the comebacker. - Steve Grabowski

Serene Melody

Inside again, at least she got a feel of the surface; 12/5 place horse graduated next out, then took an N1X right back; there is class on the bottom side as dam was one of the ones; dam has dropped 5 that earned at least $330K including several successful turfers like near $550K earner Grand Reward; look out.

Smart Typical

Educated in bow and at least she was finished with interest; 2 for 4 dam was dirt sprint only; 4 of 5 siblings won; a couple won on grass and banked 6 figures; must hurry.

Bourbon N Burley

Perfect Soul about 8% with debuters in a 269-racer grid,about 7% with first-time turfers in a 188-runner sample; sire was grass only, took a Grade 1, banked over $1.5 million, didn't run at 2; G3 winning dam took 16 of 40, earned $1.1 million, lost only turf out; 3 of 5 siblings won; one was a double turf winner and top kin Not Bourbon was a millionaire; she looks fit enough.

Queen Kalyrra

Giant's Causeway about 9% with first-time turfers in a 579-runner sample; sire won juvenile debut by 7 and took a Group 1 at 2, was a turf monster; SW 4 for 14 dam cashed on grass once; lone half sis lost 3 times; must turn it around.

Oeighter

She could have been intimidated by the rail; dam's lone win was a dirt route; lone half bro won thrice, but not on grass; may need softer to shine.

Kristinite

Got to drifting and the stewards got involved; dam out of the money in only try; lone half bro Jamaican Memories won stakes, earned over $140K, lost twice on grass; look for rider to be aggressive once again.

Sweet as a Rose

Miss has more speed than she just flashed; there is a grass winner in the tree but that runner was 1 for 32; she is starting to figure it out.

English Annie

Was a bit more keen to run early last time; SW 15 for 34 dam earned over $500K, won 14 times on grass; this is her first to race; miss is due for a trip.

Twisted Purpose

Freshened for this, like the spacing of the return drills; backers can point to several successful turfers in the family including $425K earner Beau Dare; don't sell too short.

Fable

Respect this interloper; he hooked the repeater in the debut and the last race came back okay; the 9th finisher beat $50K maiden claimers next out and the winner repeated in a $50K optional with a 67 Beyer; SW 4 for 29 dam banked nearly $200K, was turf only; one of 4 siblings won but that one was a double winner on grass; surprise package.

Penny Sixpence (FR)

Was in the good hands of Gosden across the pond and she was bothered in the first 2 starts; dam third in best moment; lone ful bro Penny's Picnic took a Group 2, banked over $250K in France; this racer looks live.

Kool Kat

Scat Daddy about 14% with first-time turfers in a 132-runner survey; sire took debut at 2, won multiple Grade 1s, earned over $1.3 million, never turfed; only one winner in the tree and that one lost only turf try; a player if she adapts.

Lindy Hoppin

Nearly blew up the tote at 90-1 but this is a tougher assignment; SW 3 for 19 dam banked $75K, was 2nd in best turf result; 2 of 3 siblings won but neither on grass; would rather see her in for a tag.

Garnisheed Wages

Came home like she has some try in her and could be more focused with the blinks; SP 2 for 19 dame earned over $100K, lost twice on turf; 2 of 3 sibs won but 2 tried grass to no avail; could be compromised by the slot. - Brian Mulligan
