Sand Vixen dented Misheer's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf chances with a victory in the Group 2, $133,000 Flying Childers Stakes at Doncaster on Friday. A Dubawi filly sent off at 9-2, Sand Vixen provided the white-hot Godolphin outfit with yet another stakes victory as she set a course record for 2-year-olds, speeding the straight five furlongs in 58.10 seconds on good to firm ground, breaking Sing Sing's 50-year-old mark by .30 of a second and beating Bould Mover by a length.\nThe 3-2 Misheer, who had won the six-furlong, Group 2 Cherry Hinton Stakes in her last start on July 8, may have found this cut back to five furlongs too short at this stage, as she faded to finish ninth of 10. Clive Brittain had removed her from the Moyglare Stud Stakes, a Breeders' Cup Win and You're In race, on Aug. 30 because of heavy ground, and future plans for Misheer, an Oasis Dream filly, are on hold. Not so for Sand Vixen, who will be aimed at the six-furlong, Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket on Oct. 2.\n* Brittain had more bad luck in the Group 2, $133,000, May Hill Stakes when the 14-1 Pollenator beat his 40-1 Hibaayeb by a half-length in the one-mile test for juvenile fillies. The disappointment was the 4-7 favorite Seta, an eight-length maiden winner in her debut who led at the quarter pole but faded to finish third, 1 1/2 lengths behind Pollenator, who clocked 1:37.93 for the straight mile.
