San Vicente under consideration for Storm the Court's return

ARCADIA, Calif. – Storm the Court, the winner of the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at Santa Anita in November and a finalist for the Eclipse Award as the outstanding 2-year-old male of 2019, is up to five furlongs in workouts for his 2020 debut later this winter.
Sunday at Santa Anita, Storm the Court worked five furlongs in 1:01.60 under jockey Flavien Prat. Storm the Court has had three workouts since the upset win in the BC Juvenile at 45-1 on Nov. 1, including two half-mile workouts in the final 10 days of December.
Trainer Peter Eurton said on Sunday that Storm the Court’s 2020 debut has not been finalized, but races such as the Grade 2 San Vicente Stakes at seven furlongs on Feb. 9 and the Grade 2 San Felipe Stakes at 1 1/16 miles on March 7 are under discussion. The Grade 3 Robert Lewis Stakes at 1 1/16 miles on Feb. 1 is unlikely.
“I don’t think I can make the Lewis,” Eurton said. “We’re running out of time. There is no urgency. I want to run when he’s ready to run. I might be able to make the San Vicente.
“Two races before the [Kentucky] Derby would be ideal,” he said
The Kentucky Derby will be run on May 2.
Storm the Court, by Court Vision, has won 2 of 4 starts and earned $1,172,951 for the partnership of Exline-Border Racing, David Bernsen, Susanna Wilson, and Dan Hudock.
