Sam Houston: Mr Ross become millionaire

Mr Ross ($3.30) became a millionaire when he drove to a 1 1/4-length win over Arctic Boy in the $100,000 Maxxam Gold Cup at Sam Houston Race Park.

Mr Ross picked up $60,000 for the win, which lifted his career earnings to $1,010,015. He has won 16 races overall, and with his Maxxam score became the second millionaire trained by Donnie Von Hemel, and the second bred and owned by Don McNeill. The pair's first millionaire was $1.3 million earner Clever Trevor.
