Salzman suspended for positive

Maryland-based trainer John Salzman Sr. was to begin serving a 20-day suspension on Thursday after a horse he ran at Aqueduct in April tested positive for a banned substance. Worray, a 2-year-old first-time starter who finished third in the third race on April 8, tested positive for the drug fluphenazine, a tranquilizer.

The penalty was reduced from 45 days by the stewards because "of the reasonable questions raised by investigation into the incident," the ruling stated.

Worray was disqualified from third and unplaced in the order of finish.
