Salt Flat Speed continued his dominance of the local handicap division with a three-length win over Footprint in the $50,000 Don Fleming Handicap at Northlands on Saturday. Carrying high weight of 124 pounds, Salt Flat Speed broke alertly under Rico Walcott and took control of the 1 1/16-mile race going into the first turn.
