The Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. will expand its June 2-year-olds and horses of racing age sale to accommodate a catalog of more than 1,200 horses.
Winning Answer, a Louisiana-bred daughter of Half Ours, brought $69,000 to top the inaugural 2-year-olds in training sale put on by the Equine Sales Company in Opelousas, La., on Monday. She had worked the co-fastest eighth of a mile during the auction’s breeze show Saturday.

The Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. spring sale of 2-year-olds in training will kick off the open portion of the North American juvenile auction calendar after a somewhat volatile select season. The four-day sale will take place Monday through Thursday in Ocala, Fla., with sessions beginning daily at 10:30 a.m. Eastern. The presale under-tack show was held over the Ocala Training Center’s synthetic Safetrack surface last week.
