OBS June sale expands to four days

The Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. will expand its June 2-year-olds and horses of racing age sale to accommodate a catalog of more than 1,200 horses.

The sale will begin Tuesday, June 17 and run through Friday, June 20, with sessions starting each day at 10:30 a.m. Eastern. The pre-sale under-tack show will be held over six days, from Monday, June 9, to Saturday, June 14, at the Ocala Training Center beginning at 7:30 a.m.

The OBS June catalog will be available online via the auction company’s website during the week of May 16.

This year’s OBS June catalog will be considerably larger than in 2013, which featured 748 entries over three days. Last year’s June sale posted record returns by gross, average, and median and saw a horse sell for the highest price in OBS June history, bringing $525,000.
