A 2-year-old filly by High Cotton sold for $55,000 at Wednesday’s Barretts January mixed sale at Del Mar, the first of six auctions the company will hold this year.
The two-day Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. winter mixed sale will take place next Wednesday and Thursday, with each session beginning at 10:30 a.m. Eastern. The first day of selling is a 229-horse consignor preferred session, with the second day featuring an open session immediately followed by the horses of racing age portion.
Mutadda, a stakes-winning son of Mutakddim, will relocate to A Shy Wolff Farm in Lexington, Ky. after being purchased for $1,500 at the Keeneland January horses of racing age sale by his previous night-watch person.
The Barretts January mixed sale Wednesday is the first of six auctions the sale company will hold in Del Mar, Calif., this year, the organization's first full year of operating on the grounds of the racetrack.
