Saints N Muskets won her second stakes race of the Delta Downs meet Tuesday, when she was up for a neck victory over stablemate Sarah’s Passion in the $75,000 Magnolia. Both horses are trained by Allen Landry.

It was another 4 3/4 lengths back in third to Smok’n Rita.

The Magnolia was a mile race for fillies and mares bred in Louisiana. It shared a card with the $75,000 Louisiana Jewel won by the promising Australasia. The Jewel was run over 7 1/2 furlongs and was restricted to 3-year-old fillies bred in Louisiana.

Both stakes figure to produce starters for Louisiana Premier Night on Feb. 10 at Delta.

Saints N Muskets stalked the pace set by Sarah’s Passion, who took the field through an opening quarter in 23.68 seconds and a half-mile in 48.84. The eventual winner pushed past the leader in the stretch and covered the distance on a fast track in 1:41.80. Saints N Muskets paid $6.60.

Joe Stokes was aboard Saints N Muskets for owner Rodney Verret.

Saints N Muskets came into the Magnolia off a 3 3/4-length win in the $60,000 Lookout on Nov. 25 at Delta. She is a daughter of Musket Man and a half-sister to top Louisiana-bred sprinter Laughingsaintssong.

Australasia ($2.80) is undefeated in two starts following her six-length win in the Jewel. She came into the race off an 8 1/4-length maiden special weight win Nov. 25 at Fair Grounds.

Australasia on Tuesday tracked the pace set by Taylor Avenue, who was pressured through an opening quarter in 23.49 seconds. Inawic took over through a half-mile in 48.52 before Australasia moved to the fore and increased her margin to the wire. She covered the distance on a fast track in 1:34.35.

Diego Saenz was aboard for trainer Brad Cox.

Australasia is a daughter of Sky Kingdom who races for Jean Dubois. She earned $45,000 on Tuesday.
