Saint Liam to Lane's End

Saint Liam, winner of last month's Stephen Foster Handicap, will close out his racing career at the Oct. 29 Breeders' Cup and then retire to Lane's End Farm near Versailles, Ky.

According to a release Lane's End issued Thursday, Saint Liam, a 5-year-old son of Saint Ballado, will be syndicated. His 2006 stud fee will be announced at a later date.

Saint Liam is a dual Grade 1 winner and millionaire. In addition to the Stephen Foster, Saint Liam also won the Grade 1 Donn at Gulfstream Park in February, setting a Gulfstream track record of 1:48.43 for 1 1/8 miles. He also captured the 2004 Clark Handicap, a Grade 2. His race record stands at 7-5-1 from 17 starts, with $1,573,395 in earnings.

Bred in Kentucky by Edward Evans, Saint Liam sold for $130,000 at Fasig-Tipton's Saratoga sale and races for Mr. and Mrs. William K. Warren.
