Ryneveld named Hastings director of racing

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - Paul Ryneveld was named director of racing at Hastings on Wednesday. His responsibilities in the newly created position will be to oversee all racing operations.

Ryneveld, 38, is a graduate of the University of Arizonas Race Track Industry Program and has had extensive experience in the industry.

His first job in racing was at Longacres when he was 16-years-old and he also interned at Hastings while he was going to the University of Arizona.

Ryneveld was the simulcast and stakes coordinator at Sunland Park from 1998 to 2000. He became the director of operations there in 2001. He was also the director of racing at Emerald Downs for three years beginning in 2004.

For the past few years he has been working at Fairplex Park.

Ryneveld will begin his duties at Hastings in early December.
