Post Time may stand his first breeding season at Northview Stallion Station next year, but Brittany Russell made sure to point out that the announcement on Oct. 23 did not mark his retirement. Between October 2022 and September 2025, the Maryland-bred won all 10 starts at his home track, an unprecedented streak that finally came to an end when he was upset by Barbadian Runner in the $150,000 Maryland Million Classic on Oct. 11. Barbadian Runner, a 3-year-old gelding, has pulled off several incredible victories for trainer Henry Walters this year, but defeating Post Time was a crowning achievement for the rising star. The Maryland Million defeat could very well prove to be a bittersweet end to Post Time’s sparkling career, but if Russell has it her way, the 5-year-old may get one more chance to wrap things up in the winner’s circle.
