Rushing Fall set to return in Lake Placid

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – When Rushing Fall runs in Saturday’s Grade 2, $300,000 Lake Placid Stakes, it will be her first start in more than three months. That was not by design.
After getting beat a neck in the Edgewood Stakes at Churchill Downs on May 4, Rushing Fall was removed from consideration for a trip to Royal Ascot in June. There was some thought about the Belmont Oaks in July, but trainer Chad Brown said he “didn’t feel like her energy level was where it needed to be.”
The Grade 3 Lake George on July 20 here was going to be her next start, but she was kept out of the entries due to a temperature. Now, after a series of solid works, Brown said Rushing Fall “is ready to get back to the races” in the 1 1/8-mile Lake Placid.
Among her opponents will be stablemate Significant Form, who is coming off a fourth-place finish the Belmont Oaks. She was beaten a length by La Signare in the Grade 3 Wonder Again.
Also entered in the Lake Placid were Andina Del Sur, Capla Temptress, Daddy Is a Legend, Go Noni Go, and Thewayiam.
