Runway Model retired to mate with Storm Cat

Runway Model, a dual Grade 2 winner owned by Dr. Naveed Chowhan, has retired from racing and will be bred this season to Storm Cat.

A 4-year-old Petionville filly, Runway Model last raced in the Grade 3 Dogwood Breeders' Cup last June 11, finishing seventh. Bred by Everest Stables, Runway Model won a pair of Grade 2 events in 2004, the Alcibiades and the Golden Rod Stakes.

She also finished second in the Grade 3 Arlington-Washington Lassie Stakes and in the Bassinet Stakes that season, and capped off her juvenile year with a third-place finish to subsequent champion Sweet Catomine in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies.

In 2005, was runner-up to Sis City in the Grade 1 Ashland and also finished third in the Grade 1 Fair Grounds Oaks. She leaves trainer Bernie Flint's barn with a record of 4-3-3 from 15 starts for $725,598 in earnings.

Runway Model, a half-sister to stakes winner Mambo Train, is out of the two-time stakes winner Ticket to Houston, by Houston. She will be boarded at Taylor Made Farm in Nicholasville, Ky.
