Ruffaroundtheedges, a 3-year-old filly who won her fifth race of the year Saturday night in the $50,000 New Braunfels at Retama Park, could make her next start at Fair Grounds. Trainer Alan Love said he's looking at the $60,000 Esplanade Stakes for fillies and mares at 5 1/2 furlongs on Dec. 20.\n"Where she's running best is sprinting," said Love.\nRuffaroundtheedges earned a career-best Beyer of 93 for her win in the New Braunfels, run at six furlongs. Earlier this year, she won the Lakeway at Retama. Her other wins have come in overnight races at Delta, Lone Star Park and Evangeline Downs.\n"She's had a real good year," said Love.\nNo turf racing until December\nRetama began overseeding its turf course on Tuesday, and as a result there will be no turf racing at the track until the Texas Champions Day program Dec. 6, said James Leatherman, the racing secretary at Retama. The track is picking up 43 of the 65 dates that Sam Houston Race Park canceled because of damages sustained in Hurricane Ike.\nThe $50,000 No Le Hace, which will close out the Retama meet on Saturday night, was originally scheduled for 7 1/2 furlongs on turf but will now go at a mile on dirt, said Leatherman. Retama will begin conducting the Houston dates Nov. 20.\n* Euroears, an undefeated multiple stakes winner, and Sing Baby Sing, who was sixth last out in the Breeders' Cup Sprint, are both nominated to the $50,000 Chuck Taliaferro Memorial Stakes at six furlongs at Remington on Sunday.
