Rotondo leaving Breeders' Cup after 15 years
Peter Rotondo, the vice president of media and entertainment for Breeders’ Cup for the past 15 years, is leaving the organization as of May 12, Breeders’ Cup confirmed on Wednesday.
Rotondo, who comes from a Staten Island family of horseplayers, is leaving the organization “to pursue other opportunities,” Breeders’ Cup said in a statement issued in response to an inquiry by Daily Racing Form. Rotondo is one of the longest-tenured employees of Breeders’ Cup.
“We thank him for his many years of devoted service to the company and for his invaluable creativity and contributions to our business,” the statement said. “We wish him the best of luck in future endeavors.”

In an email response, Rotondo said that he is “taking a breath while keeping an eye out for new challenges and opportunities” following the recent birth of his daughter. He called his time at Breeders’ Cup “a dream come true.”
Rotondo came to the Breeders’ Cup from the National Thoroughbred Racing Association, where he ran the association’s television department.
Rotondo was a student at Seton Hall University from 1993-1995 before transferring to the University of Arizona’s Race Track Industry Program to complete his education.
